I love this mouse but find that I have to replace it perhaps too frequently, lasts about a year for me and then it gets "goosey" and, for lack of a better word, loose. Have to double click a lot when it begins to wear out. Have had three in past 4 years but always buy another because I like the top back-forward buttons I can use without having to move the cursor. However, looks like it's been discontinued (didn't find it on Logitech website today, Sept 25, 2011) and I will not pay the price I saw on Amazon's page. $35 is about right. G'luck.

This is hands down the best mouse I've ever used and I am VERY picky about my mice. As a video gamer, I am obsessed with gaming using only the best mice and I was never 100% satisfied with any mouse regardless of price, until I used the LX7 by logitech. It's the perfect shape for the hand, being that it's simple and smooth but not OVERLY shaped like some other complicated designs where companies go overboard trying to get too fancy. The weight is perfect, it's just heavy enough that it has good quality feel, not too light and not too heavy. It's got perfect response time, there's no lag or disconnect feeling to it. My personal favorite thing about the LX7 is the 2 custom buttons next to the scroll wheel, you can map those using the included software to be any key command, which is VERY useful in gaming, and the best thing is the buttons are easy to quickly press but not SO EASY that you accidentally press them all the time, a common problem for many gaming mice.
Speaking of quality, I've had my LX7 for about 4 years and it's still in great condition, the longest I have ever used a mouse. I will finally buy another LX7 this month only because the left click button has just slightly slowed down after all these years of use. I probably could just clean it, there's probably just dirt under the button, but I'll just buy a new one. Lastly, the battery usage is great, I use my LX7 several hours a day, every day and I replace the AA batteries about once every 2-3 months. You don't have to turn the mouse on and off, it automatically does that when you turn your computer on/off.
Like I said, I just think the LX7 is perfect in every way. As a gamer, I've probably used 80 different mice ranging in price from $10 - $100+ and the LX7 is the only mouse I want to use at this point.

Well, the mouse quality is decent and all that -- my one gripe there is the over-sized dongle. My biggest gripe, though (and I only WISH I could return the thing), is that scrolling doesn't work when the mouse is connected to a Mac. running ANY version of OS X using manufacturer's drivers or not. I would not have rated this mouse so low for that had it not been for the fact that the manufacturer claims it works with all version of OS X.
So, if you're using a Mac., stay away from this mouse as it will be useless to you.
